This is a GREAT book!

This book is really fun. Every key battle in the French & Indian Wars and the American Revolution is first described, then broken down with maps and the order of battle so you can wargame it yourself. The last 40 pages of the book give his rule set for playing a wargame. I found the rules a bit complex, but I also found many unique elements which I may incorporate into other rulesets.

But don't be mislead, this book is not just for wargamers. Anyone who wants to really understand who won, who lost, and why, will find out here. He covers 4 battles of the French & Indian War, and 25 battles of the Am. Revolution (from Lexington to Yorktown). As an example, do you know why and where the British were going when they stumbled into Lexington? And why the locals decided to show up with arms? It's all here, explained clearly and succinctly, with a distinctly readable style.

If you like this book, check out "Donald Featherstone's Wargamer's Handbook of the American War of Independence Wargaming 1775-1783", which is similar and also excellent.

I purchased these for my elderly parents. They love these puzzles and the large print really helps them. It's great to keep their mind going and they enjoy the puzzles so much. I've already purchased Volumes 1, 2 and 3 for them and immediately ordered Volume 4 when it was released.

GREAT series of books

I admit I'm a big fan of Russian lit, and these Chekhov short stories (from this volume and all the other volumes) are one of the reasons why. They are lovely, quirky, sensitive, insightful, funny, and give a marvelous glimpse into Russian life from a century-plus ago. I prefer the Constance Garnett translations (a less common preference). It seems Russian scholars think she's a bit old-school, but I like the way she captures the charm of the time.

My bookseller was Summanulla books, and I can't say enough good things about the person from whom I ordered. He was patient, thorough, and extremely helpful. My books arrived on time, packed with meticulous care. This seller will be my first stop for all future book purchases.

This story was suggested to me by a friend who’s taste in literature is similar to my own. His suggestions rarely let me down and this continued that tradition.

One Time Draw is a captivating story about past relationships, the way we internalize memories, and their affect on our future perceptions. The writing pulled me through the story and I found myself lost in reflections of memories of my own relationships by the time I finished.

It’s a sincere read with very tangible characters that linger on past the end of the story. Looking forward to more of this authors work.
