About the Author
Sam Benjamin is a graduate of Brown University. He has worked variously as a farmhand, celebrity ghostwriter, massage therapist, and independent filmmaker. He is the author of American Gangbang: A Love Story, one of the LA Weekly's Best Reads of 2011. He lives in Los Angeles. Candice Lori holds a BS in Philosophy and Religious Studies. She has spent the past decade studying yoga, organic horticulture, and bodywork at alternative communities in Hawaii, India, and California. She is currently a bodyworker and sacred dance space facilitator in Big Sur. Artist Sam Wohl makes drawings and movies. He lives in Los Angeles.

Enjoy!

I wasn't sure what to expect with the Hippie Kama Sutra, but I can say that my expectations were blown out of the water... and on to fertile land! The book is surprisingly grounded and abundantly informative. The HKS is everything you could want in a little book (perfect for your coffee table, a gift for a curious friend, or simply to up your own ante in the realms of eco-social and sexual conversation). I could read this in one sitting... and will probably refer to it over and over. And as far as content goes, the illustrations are some of the most inspired I've seen. Enjoy!

9/10. Would bang.

I'm not a hippie (it's too deeply ingrained: I struggle with patchouli and white people dreads make me roll my eyes so hard I sometimes lose my balance) but I WAS born on a commune and have parents who are still longhairs in spirit. My squareness notwithstanding, I enjoy organic produce, sex, people who don't take themselves to seriously, in-jokes, yoga, burritos and marijuana. For a time, I choked down kombucha because the yoga enthusiast / masseuse / dirty little whirlwind I was dating had me thinking it was a good idea. Point being: I'm open minded, man.
Reading The Hippie Kama Sutra made me laugh. Laugh a lot. Little chortles. Outright guffaws. A snigger here and there. In fact, I laughed enough that my fiancee got annoyed and left the room on my first read - but then a day later, I heard the same sounds coming from her, reading the book in another room. Strangely, I learned a few things from the book too - having to do with recipes and superfoods and meditation a little bit. Critically, however, reading Sam and Candice's book, I also got a little horny. It's a strange and wonderful feeling to couple a belly laugh with a scrotal tightening, but if reacting that way to reading good and sexy humor is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

One I started reading I couldn't put it down !

Being a child of the sixties myself I felt young again reading this book.It took me way back to the day's of free love, granny dresses, platform shoes, love beads & CSNY. The mixture of interesting trivia, recipes, jokes,hilarious cartoon art, funny quotes, and mind bending humor kept me flipping the pages. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down.When it was finished I wanted more. The big question is how will they follow this ingenious Best Seller ? This book is an uplifting gift for open minded people of all ages. It's a breath of fresh air, original and provocative. I know I will read it over & over just to get a good laugh. Well Done !
